CARYATIDE 75

We are conveniently located in the heart of Manhattan Upper East Side. We are few blocks away from the Metropolitan Museum of Arts and two blocks from Sothebys.

 

 

Director: Alexis Maxime Feyou de Happy

AMF de H  graduated from Claude Monet in Paris in 1978. He then studied archeology at the Louvre's and Sorbonne's.  He was first introduced to African Art at home. In his father’s private collection at their residence of Kribi. Prince Joseph Feyou de Happy was then in charge of Fang territories in Southern Cameroon as the prefet of Kribi, Sanaga Maritime.

In 1987 Alexis M. F. de H. began exhibiting African Art in USA. Ha had exhibitions in Baltimore, Chicago, Austin, New Orleans and Dallas.He also contributed to the city of Harlem community by exposing young people to African Art. He was made Director of the Afro Arts Cultural center Museum from 1987 to 1997 with a focus in education.

 Alexis Maxime Feyou de Happy is a published author of three books (Conscience Ouverte -1974, Dithy-2002 & Fairy tales from Propagamar-2006).  He has been working with his father since 1986 on a thorough history of Bamileke.
